Just picked up a 4 pin Svideo cable so i can plug in the PC to the spare TV for video files etc.... but have found that the TV has 4 pin input and all the video cards I have are 7 pin.... should this work in theory anyway ?
If not, any way I can get it going with an adaptor or something ?
Else ive got a 5m 4 pin SVideo cable up for a few $$$ :)
A bit off topic but I remember I had real trouble with my computer outputting at a much higher frequency than my TV could handle. Thought it was the S-VHS->RCA cable, turns out I just needed a semi-modern TV, haha.
I see you have it working already, but yes, it definitely should work.
The 7-pin connectors usually have the normal 4-pin S-Video signal in them. The extra 3 pins are used for composite video, together with a S-Video to composite adaptor. Unfortunately, there's no standard for that so every manufacturer usually uses their own pinout for composite video.
