Hello,

I just know this is a lame noob question but if you don't ask you'll be left wondering right.
Can I use a 5.1 or 7.1 receiver as a 2 channel amp for my stereo wihtout setting up surrounds?
Reason I ask is that there are some powerful surround receivers advertised on Trademe that I'm keen to buy but only for stereo operation (for now anyway).

Thank you for your advice.

Steve.

Yes, if you set the other speakers to none in the setup menu it will send that content to the main speakers so you will not be missing any content.

Right, I thought it may be that simple. Just didn't want to waste my money by buying a surround receiver and not get the desired results.
Thank you.
