This link popped up in one of the various RSS feeds I follow today. I've seen the wireless HDMI kits around before but these look almost affordable and seem pretty awesome. I think I'd mainly consider it for transmitting from one of our apartment's many notebooks to the television.

Probably a luxury for a time in the future, however.

With only quoted 5-10m of line of sight operation, I have to wonder what the market for it is.

From laptop to screen you have a giant box hanging off the laptop, so not really portable like that unless you velcro it to the laptop or something.

Perhaps once they integrate it into laptops it would be really useful, but as it is, where is the real use for it with its short range?

Could be useful for HT to projector or similar. The picture on the site shows several in one house, but with it listing 5.1 to 5.8 GHz being used, I wonder if you really could have several operating in the same area, or if it would be like wifi where once you get a couple running, there is no way to add anymore without really damaging the performance of them.

Also, how do they degrade? sparkles? total loss of link? lowering the resolution but keeping the framerate etc?
