Can i cut my vga cable and join it to cat5e to extend it?

I am going to be mounting my projector to the roof in my lounge and i would like to put the cables through the roof and down through the wall.

Can i just cut the vga cable and wire it to cat5e? If so how do i do it ?

You can't just cut it. You need a balun at each end.

VGA wallplates.

But if you're using cat5e cable over baluns you'll only be needing to use RJ45 keystones for the walljack.

Yeah, I happily run 40m at my church with no noticeable loss, have run 60m with no booster (Laptop-Projector)

If you have to run heating in winter, you don’t own enough computers.
