Hi,

When I press the foward button >> on my MCE remote playback speeds up to (I think) 1.4 x.
Is it possible to change this to 1.5x?

My wife loves the 1.5x playback on our sony dvd recorder and wants me to make MCE the same.

Thanks,
Phil

Yes, via registry hacks. also possible to change the skip ahead and instant replay times (3min skip ahead interval is perfect for all except primetime tv ad breaks :) )

See thegreenbutton.com for the registry entries that need to be changed.

As always - edit your registry at your own risk.

BTW, should be 1.5times by default

Thanks for the info.

Is thegreenbutton.com supposed to redirect to experts.windows.com?
Could you suggest a keyword to search with? I'm not sure of the term or name people use to describe this.

I timed the fast forward speed over 4 minutes and it's exactly 1.4x not 1.5x.

Thanks,
Phil

the skip ahead and instant reply times are *not* what you are looking for. They just change the number of seconds to skip forward or back. I've not head of a way to change the plaback speed for that first step of the fast forward (i.e. the one where the video and audio are sped up but it is still watchable).

yes, thegreenbutton has imgrated to experts.windows. I'm not sure if i like it anymore. try the next biggest media center site i know of: http://www.pcmediacenter.com.au/
