Since we have a few experts on here does anybody have any comments on these TV's?

One of my mates was asking me about them as he was interested in them - Harvey Norman have them for $4999 with cabinet at present.

They seem to have had pretty good reviews but the technology is now around 2 years old. He's not obsessed by quality but likes the screen size!

How about a 72" Toshiba DLP?

Top of my head they arent all that much more expensive than a 60" Samsung DLP

If it's the 72CM9UA then that's a 1080p device which is probably better than the Samsung. However I suspect it's more than $5K. Not sure of the exact price but as a comparison, the 72" JVC-DILA which is 720P is about $8K.

I must admit I looked at the Toshiba when I was replacing my 52" Toshiba DLP but it was showing a SD picture in the HN I was in and that doesn't really give you an idea of the capability of the set.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

$7300 for a 72" Toshiba DLP

Too bad they dont bring them in anymore, the 62" would have been about $6k

DLP is a bit older than 2 years old... Plasma and LCD have been around longer than I've been alive
