I have the below specs , and would like to utlise the Optical out from this motherboard while playing back BlueRay discs in my HTPC via BlueRay DVD DRive. 

My question is , is the Optical out  5.1 Surround ? or only Stereo ?

I currently use the sound via video out via HDMI to my Samsung 32" TV

THoughts anyone ?
