Hey guys, tomorrow I'm looking at getting a Samsung LA40D550 from work, (Yay for pay day!)
I'm looking at wall mounting it above three monitors in my room and will mainly just be using it for watching movies I've got on my computer and possibly a bit of gaming.
Heres a link: http://www.noelleeming.co.nz/shop/t...prod111076.html

If anyone has one of these TV's can you let me know what you think of them? Is there anything I should be aware of?

Thanks :)

I have the la40c650 and it is awesome. Highly recommended. I would Google the difference between the 5 series and the 6 series, but I am sure its just the inclusion of the internet based content system.

If that's the case, then buy 2.

The 5 series is 50Hz, whereas the 6 series (not available as an LCD in NZ anymore) is 100 Hz.
Sure Samsung try to market the 5 series as CMR 100Hz, but that's pretty much them trying to fudge their figures and hope that consumers think it is actually capable of refreshing its picture 100 times per second.
It can't... only 50 times per second.

For $699 it's okay, but it'll no doubt be cheap in 3 weeks time during the Boxing Day sales.

I have one and really like it. Had it for about 2 months now. Plays .avi's etc from a flash drive, nice enough picture, PS3 looks good on it. Can't complain at all for the low price :)

My only comment from the link, is it does have one very thick bezel around it. I am sure there will be some great boxing day deals this year on tvs'. Only 19 days away. Also I would look for an LED, as almost all new ones soon will be LED

Not for gaming it isn't. 100ms of lag on HDMI connections. You can get it down to 60ms with VGA but that doesn't help PS3 owners. I hear the 5 series fares better but I've only experienced the 6.
