I've been posting without an introduction! Where are my manners?
Ho Hum. Well, I've just emigrated from the UK to Wellington (lovely place you have here, btw). My fall from grace started with a Commodore VIC-20 back in the 80's. I've still got that baby too - gonna set her up when my stuff arrives from the UK! :)
By day I earn a respectable living as a .NET (mainly C#) developer. By night I poke around with *NIX, Perl scripts (I have an unhealthy love of regular expressions) & gaming. My geeky credentials include converting retired Windows machines to high-performing OpenBSD boxes, tweaking around with 3d rendering in GDI+ & knifing n00bs on Counter-Strike/BF2/BF2142. At the moment, I'm currently working towards my Solaris 10 System Administration exam (pt. 1).
Taking a complete U-turn from geekdom, I'm getting married at Christmas & I love the outdoors. My fiancée and I can often be seen hiking (or tramping!) around Mt. KauKau & the Ngaio skyline peaks. I also like running - did a few half-marathons back in the UK for charity & hope to do a full marathon soon in NZ!
My top websites are http://slashdot.org/, http://peanuts.com/ & http://dilbert.com/ and my favourite colour is green. Look forward to seeing you around!
Richard.
