Welcome to Geekzone!

Think your best bet is the newest e-waste pickup/drop off point... No market or interest in CRT's anymore?

Thank's for your responses so far.

We're in Waitakere and the websites weren't very helpful. All Google suggested was the recycle scheme that has been defunct for 12 months and whilst the Waitakere council refuse site seemed to say that TVs were accepted it didn't give a cost to how much it cost.  Also e-cycle.co.nz wasn't working etc. Now I understand why TVs just seem to be dumped by bins.

Some scrap metal dealers may take them as they have quite a bit of copper in them. That is where I got rid of mine/

Stick them outside your house with "For Sale, $100 each" signs on them and someone will steal them.
