Welcome to Geekzone t94xr.  I did live in Taupo for a few years before heading North (to Auckland that is - as opposed to the northern hemisphere....where I am now)!  It was bloody cold in winter, crowded in summer, with a fair number of earthquakes thrown in.  Still a great place.  oh...and the prawn park....mmmm:-p
