I'm Ectes.

That bit's made up.

Im a slightly arrogant, rather cynical 20 something year old "student" from Christchurch. When Im not pretending to listen to lecturers and fellow students, I drive forklifts at Foodstuffs in Hornby.

As for my spare time, well, where do I begin?

I live at my computer. Seriously. I would *die* without it. I love it so hard. Its the culmination of several years of ' "Hmm, this is broken/inferior/ugly" *swaps out for new component* '  It currently runs on an AMD X2 64 4000+ with a gig of RAM 1.3TB hard drive and Ubuntu 7.10. Soon to be updated to Fedora 8.

I have an EEE PC, which doesnt do a hell of a lot at the moment, but will soon be played with.

I also am a PSU, mobo and RAM away from a home entertainment PC, which should (read: wont) be finished in the next few weeks.

I call myself a writer despite not having anything published in the traditional sense. I run www.ectes.net which showcases my "talent". Be sure to check it out, Im trying for an update each day.

I'm not well known for my forum hanging-out-on skills, but I'll try. You can catch me on the IRC channel. As some of you have already discovered.

The forums are probably much more civil than the IRC channel, that said, there are many more interesting people over on 'This side" of Geekzone, too.
