Just been made redundant after 13 plus years servicing photocopiers/faxes. Previously employed servicing mainly military communications equipment. First programming experience was using punched paper tape and a Teletype, now using XP which is a little bit quicker.

Hi Allan, welcome to Geekzone.  Hopefully there's plenty here to keep you interested, and I've no doubt you'll have plenty to contribute.

Is the redundancy a good or a bad thing?

G'day,

Redundancy is good in some ways, i.e. can pay off mortgage etc., but it will be hard to find a job at 56 years old!
It should give me the time I need to link up my old computer to this one so I can be online while my wife is playing around with Bebo.
