Greetings everyone,

Looking for some computer/modem info brought me to your forums. I do hope I can learn and contribute as well. I'm a wanna be computer fixer, I love the challenge of finding whats wrong and making it work. Most my friends come to see me when they have computer issues and they dont quite understand when I say I know what the problem is, but its beyond what I can do. A friend recently needed windows reinstalled and I dont have the disks and have not done it before. She wasn't too happy about that. Wink

On a nice sunny day, I will either be down the beach fishing or out on my bicycle doing some training. Thats so long as I haven't got stuck in front of my pcInnocent

have a great day

Hi everyone,

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Also a question, I have an ipod touch, and would like to put dvd's onto it. I believe I need to rip the dvd and convert it to the format for the ipod? Can anyone recomend a decent free converter?

thanks in advance

Better to put this question on its own topic in the appropriate forum - the Portable Media forum is the one for this.

I've tried a couple of different free software programs (Videora and Jodix) but always had problems with the sync between sound and motion.  Handbrake is another program that springs to mind (haven't used it myself), but do a web search and I'm sure you'll find loads more.

Because of the sync problems I experienced I ended up getting some software from Xilisoft (not free but wide range of product/price choices) and haven't had any problems since.

Edit:

I was thinking that as I was writing this - I'll repost the answer if the question gets asked there...
