Hi there,

I am new to New Zealand. Trying to find a job a the moment.

Question: For 99% it seems I have to go with a recruitment company to get a job. True/false ?

Recruitment companies aren't what they were when they first started. It's all about sales to them. So if they don't have a job for you, they won't really look further - I know, a sweeping generalisation.

I would look at www.Seek.co.nz definitely as my first stop and ensure that your cover letter and CV are written and laid out in the best possible way.

Thanks heavenlywild. But even on seek.co.nz most jobs are through Recruitment Agents. Is there no real/free job site in New Zealand?

Hello Frizzy,

The answer to your question is false. Some companies give their recruitment process to recruitment agencies and most don't. I have met some recruiters and they were great.

Try these job websites below. It also depends on what kind of roles you are looking for and where you live, are you looking for I.T roles or what?
