Hi, here's my intro.
My name is Simon Kerr and I work for the army. I'm interested in GIS applications, using military radios to send data around the battlefield, UAV's, GPS, APRS, voip, PICs, BASIC Stamps and micro's in general, and a few others I can't think of right now. Oh, and grumbling about Telecom.

Current stuff I'm working on / playing with:

Building a UAV and/or high altitude balloon.
Getting my HAM radio licence so I can use APRS.
Figuring out how to make a stand alone GoogleEarth / WorldWind server with cached data so no internet connection is needed.
Getting my head around MS Server 2k3, Virtual Server and Sharepoint.

If anyone has similar interests, I'd like to hear from them.

Hi Simon, Welcome to Geekzone. I work for Telecom so I am sorry to hear that you like to grumble about my employer. You will be happy to hear though that Telecom baiting is a favourite sport on Geekzone.

I am always here to help if you have any questions.Wink

Yes, and Telecom employees never miss a chance, excuse the pun, to take a shot at AP and Sling Shot, which of course is my favourite sport.

Welcome
