Hi!
My name is Kim. I'm the technology reporter for One News. I can't believe it's taken me this long to find this forum!
Anyway, if anyone comes across anything they think is newsworthy, that we should be across, please get in touch. kim.vinnell@tvnz.co.nz
Now to get into this geekzone thing..

Welcome Kim, its almost a sure-bet that if something big tech wise happens in NZ it gets talked about here, geekzone even gets mentioned in the media now and then (like on stuff.co.nz)

Mentioned? That's after I complained a bit - and made some enemies at Fairfax I believe. Because what happens around is some people reading the forums, finding something newsworthy and then "reporting" on it, without really disclosing the source or where the story originated.

Actually, it happened a few times.

If there's anything I would add, it's to be DAMN SURE you fact check anything you hear on here even more rigorously than 'news' from elsewhere. This is a very very biased community, in that there are a lot more tech savvy people here with (often) unrealistic expectations of ANY service - not just ISP or Telco services.

I know I'll catch some flak for this, but I could (but I absolutely am not going to) point to dozens of examples.

Cheers - N

You are right. Many people here know a lot more than the citizen on the street. Many people here work for a tech company with interests at heart. And obviously many people here think they know a lot when in fact they don't.

As usual, this is the Internet. Treat information sourced from the Internet with care, and fact check BEFORE using it.
