Hi all,

I've been an opportunist geekzone reader for some time now which is to say typically finding myself here via google when searching for technical information. Despite having not ventured too far through each sub-forum I have always been impressed with the maturity and quality of posts in general.

I am a 30 something software developer. Typically websites for the last 9-10 years and a bit of junior DBA'ing for a couple of years before that. I've generally employed MS technologies however have dabbled in a few different things. My latest gig is all OSS and while I've used OSS for the odd project here and there this is the deepest I've gone yet. Must say I'm thoroughly enjoying it as I'm learning new things every day. Just the way I like it. :)

I'm also a gamer, typically FPS on PC, although not so much lately due to commitments and responsibilities.

There is bit of an ulterior motive for registering at this time which is I need to post a job vacancy for our company. Regardless, I plan to use this opportunity to browse through the forums a bit more.

Thanks for reading. :)
