I am looking for a new laptop and notice that many of the models on sale have SSD instead of a conventional hard disk. Can anyone enlighten me on how using an SSD only for Windows works with things like temp files and cache area. I always understood that caches and temp files area where there are heavy writing to disk can cause SSD to deteriorate very quickly. I thought the best practice was to use SSD for the operating system and provide conventional storage for Cache/Temp areas.

Has the evolution of SSD's now improved to the point when one can ignore the rapid rewriting to the disk?

If not are there laptops that offer SSD and conventional disk?
