Hi all

 

My friend has asked me to source her a good laptop for a max budget of $1400

 

I have no clue what to look for in laptops so thought i would ask the better bunch ;)

 

She needs it to be easy to carry so it cant be to bulky

 

It would be used for things like uni work, gaming (medium graphics is fine as she is a light gamer, things like warthunder, wow, other less demanding games) and watching movies. 

 

Any ideas on what is out there and in her price range?

Best to jump on pricespy

Filter machines with gtx950

There are some models about $1800

You could filter like 940m but gaming on that will be average as fps.

Yes it is more than 1400 but it has decent mobile gpu

I'd also filter on at least Full HD; so much dross out there with lower resolution screens than a decent phone (I'm looking at you, 1366x768)

yes but the GFX on it are rather old and might struggle on some games

I would advise her to choose

 

either a gaming laptop
or a lightweight laptop

 

Also, does she want a 15" , or a 13" thats smaller & easier to carry around ?

 


A 2.26 kg laptop doesnt sound like what she wants smile
