Hi

I am looking at buying a new laptop for around the $1800-2000 Mark

I am looking at mainly using it for movies/photo/minor video editing  tiny bit of gaming nothing hardcore

Just would like a decent computer that will last me 2-3 years.


Would appreciate any advice on models, processors, graphics cards, hdd, extras eg blue tooth, hdmi wifi etc.

all comments will be appreciated and noted.

I would say first of all, wait until the Boxing Day sales kick-in if possible.  This way, you can buy a laptop currently worth $2500 for around the $2000 mark.

Processor-wise, go for a Centrino Core 2 Duo (any choice from this "family" would be sufficient)
At least 2GB worth of RAM running Vista
250GB hard drive, or 320GB
nVidia 9500 or better video card with 512mb memory
Make sure it has an HDMI port and enough USB ports
