hi,
lately my laptop has done somthing strange.
usualy i hold down the FN to press certain keys and you get the numbers or certain symbols etc. but now it uses thoese cerntain keys with out having to hold down the FN key there for making it alot harder to type normaly, i am having to hold down the FN key just top type normaly.
i hope thats not too confusing to understand.
does anyone know what to to about this.
i am sure that is is not a setting been changed but not 100% sure. i have emaild acer and they to me to reboot the whole computer which i am trying to avid if i can.


please help me

reboot takes a few minutes why not do that?

ahhh sorry, ive forgotten what its call... uno when u have to start the whole computer from scratch

You mean they advised to format? Thats a bit drastic!

What happens if you press FN Key (keep it depressed) and press Num Lock ?

If that doesnt work and your using  Windows Vista try a reboot or proper shut down as when you press the power icon in vista by default its only going into suspend.

To do it properly click on the start menu (windows key) then to shut down your computer, click the arrow next to the Lock button, and then choose restart.
