Friday 26th 23:50 Dell online XPS 17 notebook pricing points.

XPS 17 i7-740QM 6GB RAM 640GB HDD Nvidia GT445M GPU $2599

XPS 17 i7-840QM 12GB RAM 1.28TB HDD Nvidia GT445M GPU $2599

XPS 17 i7-840QM 8GB RAM 1.28TB HDD Nvidia GT445M GPU $3399

These were the online prices as of Friday 26th 23:50.

They may be 'adjusted' when you read this, but I thought if some one was looking at purchasing an XPS 17 notebook the current price as listed could be quite competitive.

I suggest this is a mistake and will be corrected at some time.

One should take ones time to appraise the situation and be inform and not take my word for it.
There is a fair chance I don't know what I'm talking about and there could be a VERY good reason for the current pricing structure. Phone a friend and get their advice.

But guess it's worth a look if you a techy person with knowledge of these things.

Well as fun as that was, it's all over.

The price has been corrected and this Dell XPS 17 build option at an amazingly marked down price is no more.

The price has gone up to $3999.00 from the old price of $2599.00 for this given build option.

A difference on the price of $1400.00.

I'm sure someone in New Zealand feels they've got a Christmas present, even if they weren't expecting to be a Dell customer.

Oh well, think on the positive side, the Intel "Sandy Bridge" range of processors will be out soon and all these systems will be old hat.

It's mooted the starting models so far would be the 3.1GHz Core i3 2100 and 3.3GHz Core i3 2120. That's hot!

It is hypothesised that CPU processor power will double every 18months within the framework of Moores law.

OK, what happened. Did someone press the light speed switch. Forget Moores law, that's just so yesterday.

Dell is about to update the 17" L701 (which I thought was only released a month or so ago) with the 17" L702x

It's rumoured to have a Sandy Bridge processor and an upgraded graphics card beyond the existing GT 445M.

Yawn, still Dell though, but my gosh, things are speeding up.
