Hey gusy looking at replacing an IDEOS x5 which has a terrible battery. The user needs maps, wireless hotspot, exchange support and an awesome battery.
Any recommendations?
OH BTW needs to be Android.

paulmilbank: There are three questions to ask, What does the user consider to be good battery life, how long does the battery last now and is this for private use or for business?
If it is not for business, I would consider throwing a custom rom on it. Oxygen, cm7 or miui seem to give an easy two days battery. You could also try the official Huawei Gingerbread update as well. The final should be out this week, fingers and toes crossed.
I just suggest this because android, cheap and long battery life are not generally words found in the same sentence! The X5 also has a good battery, but the froyo rom it has does not have good power management so a gingerbread based rom can really improve things vastly.

jonb: Motorola Defy Plus ? though not particularly cheap..
LG P500 has a relatively large battery and is cheap. I've had problems keeping mine from waking all the time but that's probably a personal app/config problem.
