I signed up to telecom last week, got my new phone, rang on friday to port my vodafone number through, the lady said to call back first thing monday morning. this i did. i think i got the guy about to finish his night shift and i swear he fell asleep at one stage in the conversation! fingers crossed he got all my details right.

i am taking my vodafone account  number and putting it on a telecom account, how long does this usually take? how long will i have both phones working, no phones working, and one telecom phone working using my 021 number?!

I've done this in store and it took less than 24 hours.

You could have done this in the store when you got your Telecom handset...

less than 24 hours sounds good! i know i could've done it in the store but the guy said it took 4 hours and since it was about 4pm i thought i'd do it the following morning... then i was busy so phoned on friday, that lady said it takes approx 48 hours so to do it first thing on monday morning at 7am. it'll be weird going from 2 phones suddenly to none!
