freitasm: With all this talk about Big Time, how is the access to Geekzone (we're hosted in Auckland)?

Just like any other national site - pretty fast, no issues. Normally I have adblock plus running on every site, but have turned it off for geekzone - this makes it a bit slower to load but hardly noticeable really.

Every now and again i get a 502 error at the moment, but a refresh and its fine again, having issues maybe with one of the back end app servers? (assuming its more then one)

Interesting... We did have a 500 error this morning, related to the new login system, but this was fixed since about 9am. Will put a trace on for 502 errors...

But please back on topic. Sorry, just wanted to know how local sites were doing.

Haven't seen any problems with GZ on Big Time at home, or any local sites in general other than the old issues lack of peering/interconnection (CityLink et el).

GZ is hosted at ICONZ right, no problem with them as they interconnect with Telecom.

GZ is hosted at ICONZ right, no problem with them as they interconnect with Telecom.

Correct, our servers are colocated at ICONZ.

As the official release hasn't occured yet the .torrent for it doesn't exist.

Detruire: Is anyone else having issues connecting to websites / trackers / other services on irregular ports?

Or with high ports seemingly being blocked? (I have a couple of high [10000+] ports forwarded on my router along with lower ones [such as 80], and while the lower ones report correctly and work fine, the higher ones can't be connected to.)

Is no one else experiencing this?

I can't connect to my host's cPanel/WHM without using a proxy, Steam says it can't connect and the Halo PC server list doesn't update correctly (finds a couple of hundred servers then stops)

Nah im not having problems like that with any of my stuff

Does anyone know if ports 1119 and 1120 are blocked by Telecom on the Big Time plan?

I'm trying to play the Starcraft 2 beta and it needs those ports open for the game to connect to Battle.Net properly. At the moment it is just constantly timing out.

I have the ports forwarded properly on my router and www.canyouseeme.org says that those ports are either timing out or being refused.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They seem to be blocking a great range of ports.

Either that or it's a coincidence that various port forward checking tools say that port 80 and 21 are open, yet two higher ports (one bittorrent) aren't.

That despite all having the correct rules in the router (they were definitely working fine one week ago and I haven't changed a thing, and even tried another computer with a fresh Windows install with firewall disabled.)

Guys

dont know what you changed but for the first time in months I can stream an internet radio channel without breaks, and pages seem to load much better and in decent time.

Youtube hurtles by .... much much better

will see how it goes ... cannot speak to others but I notice a significant difference last nigh

I've always been able to stream radio, but have noticed a significant increase in speed when streaming during the afternoon.

However, TVNZ-OnDemand still does not seem to work for me. I know FX Networks made the peering agreement and all, but for some reason, it still doesn't work for me.
