I think it sounds pretty fair, for high users they will get a credit for high usage and low users like wise. I actually think that is a good way to do it, works for me as I spent alot of Monday the 7th on the phone!

Yeah. I am not BLIND ...

But what would i get back, considering i'm on the unlimited text plan

If you're on prepaid, nothing. It's that simple. I'm willing to bet you'd reached your $12 'cap' far before this had even occurred, so don't act like Telecom owe you anything.

How about the 10 hours that pre-paid users couldn't use their phones? Don't preach from up high that only on-account users deserve compo.

Anyways, as I read it, wknd calling is free so pre-pay users should be able to use that right?

I'm not preaching from upon high, I'm stating that he in particular doesn't deserve anything. He's a person who is on a capped TXT plan - what does he want? $0.20 credit back?. For those who actively use their phones for more than a spamming device, they do deserve compensation.

AFAIK, Weekend calling is free for XT customers, to call Telecom mobiles or landlines.

Why doesn't he deserve anything. Just cos he used up his $12 text doesn't mean he should void all rights to any compo as he was without a service for ages. And I don't know how you picked up he was a spammer, apart from poor spelling. :-)

Free wknd calls sounds like fair compo to me, altho woulda been great for it not to happen in the first place.

Personally I don't see why everyone is jumping up and down for compensation. Like DSL your mobile service is best effort. When your phone line has issues and your internet connectivity is cut you don't automatically get a credit from your ISP as you have no SLA.

Any Credit/offer Telecom give customers should be seen as a bonus. If you're relying on your best effort mobile service to support some mission critical application / service then perhaps you should invest in your own measures of redundancy instead of expecting Telecom to take care of this for you.

If it's important you'll have some sort of a backup. If your answer to 'did you have a backup?' is no, then it's obviously not that important to you.

What about businesses that use pre pay???
For one my Dads company uses pre-pay and he is in the horticulture business. Due to being out of the office alot him and the markets TXT to make arrangements for orders of vegetables etc and he dosen't have time to sit in an office all day waiting for the e-mail so he leaves that to after work.
He also uses a capped TXT plan and because of Monday he was unable to organise orders and being a very demanding hand on job could not sit in front of a computer all day.
So are you saying he won't deserve any compensation because he lost money from not being able to get orders out that day?

I think people need to be a little fairer then acting like pre pay users don't really matter. Im on capped but I hardly ever txt. Im on it because its the cheaper option.
