Just saying, the Date header might not be the best one to examine when crafting a filter.

Exactly this. The first header you can trust is the Received: line added by the first mail server you administer. Assume everything else is fake or unverifiable at best. Including the From:.

yes I also see they have moved also to a different ip address range shown as in Romania .I have looked up the domain names used in the NZ register example contactnz.co.nz is not valid! I thought that would not be possible.

Yeah, I will be contacting my local high school who sent a monthly report for our girl. I'll ask if they use any Romania services!! :-) But the good thing is, I can now see whats filtered, as since SMX game on stream, we never saw that, so no ability to manage false positives. I still cannot locate the Not Spam button

if you are on webmail open an email in spam. You will see a sign like thumbs up. It says not spam and moves it to your in box.

Thanks but I dont get that. Opened one that was placed (not by me) into the Spam folder. No button, go to hamburger, no option. No thumbs up

Did you? I dont see xtra as a so so service as you suggest but a world class product with problems to sort out. I see users like Oblivion helping with filters leading the charge. Dont say talk to help desk or vote with my feet as I consider this in poor taste and not helpful.

click on the item in the spam folder. In the middle by the row starting compose hover over items. Next to delete is not spam.

Your instruction didnt work :-) I have a Spam folder, left pane, bottom pane. I also have a Bulk Mail folder. The Bulk Mail folder was used in the Yahoo to SMX migration. I had two spams in Yahoo Spam folder, they went to Bulk Mail as expected on migration. This Bulk Mail folder has never had any emails sent to it, by me or SMX. So, after exhausting your instruction, I moved an email to Bulk Mail as a test. and yes, there is a thumbs up.

So, I can move false positives there and mark as not spam. Slight pain, as I have many false positives, but better that than the recent past when I never saw spam at all, and had no control or visibility over false positives.

I origonally reached my webmail through my telecom and saved to bookmarks. There may be some differences depending how you set your access up.

I'm pleased people here are helpful.
I too am trying to contribute useful things leveraging my experience which is quite relevant.
However much of the tone in this thread is 'its not good enough' and I merely seek to point out that spam is what it is. Problems with the service experience need to be communicated with the vendor so they have an official shot at addressing it (what you will get from here are often workarounds)... Bitchinf about things working as intended is not helpful if you aren't also communicating this via official channels.

I'm not slagging off the service offered by Spark, I like the SMX stack and it was a great choice to solve their Yahoo problems. But at some point you have to accept the service for what it is and worth within it's limitations... What I read suggested you weren't going to do this, and my advice is still essentially the same... Communicate your issues to Spark themselves.

if you read all the post you will see posted replies received from spark users who have been through the help system.(including me) In summary they have a problem, their engineers are working on it, it may take some weeks.

From this forum I learnt about filters.

your advice that spam is here so accept as is or vote with your feet is not what advice I will follow.

Agree, its a problem, its being worked on. When they went to Yahoo there were spam issues I recall, I mark as spam, marked as not spam, and over time it became a non issue, same will happen here

Re being super cautious not to make false positives by total IP/Domain blanket slapping

You would have thought the hundreds and I would hope thousands of marked as spams from early on, all generated from a VPS IP range should be pretty safe to block (or not block. But at the very least lower the integrity rating and auto-mark as potential spam and not put in the inbox..) would be a whole less likely to have any false positives from it given the numbers being dropped at any one time.

Or at the very least pestered the hell of the host to do something about investigating if the mail is infact from there how soon people are spinning up mail servers after free signup and sending traffic 10000%

Even the last 15 or so I just marked, with different FQDNs being presented are from the same range.
