Linux:28 day plans are a SCAM! 2d have some very good plans on offer that are true month to month prepaid and postpay
I do agree that ‘scam’ is somewhat of an exaggeration, and a 28 day plan doesn’t per se mean it’s not good value or even the best value amongst similar plans. But equally there’s also something off with these types of marketing techniques as, in the end, they’re still designed to appear something they’re not - at least at the first glance.
It requires the awareness in the first place that one may not be comparing apples with apples, and then the mathematical knowledge to know how to extrapolate the costs over an equivalent timeframe to work out a direct comparison. Many people would not have the ability let alone go through the effort of doing this. Of course, if they do they may still find Skinny offers the best value! (I was with them for years, and only shifted as the cost of the next plan up, to get more data, was a rip compared to the discounted prepay annual plan with Kogan.)
All that said, I imagine there’s an appeal to some for a 28 day plan, in that it fits into a typical pay cycle given a high number of people get paid fortnightly.

I firmly disagree.
Although i am now in a position where it doesn't matter to me, there was a time when monthly charges were a real PITA.
I got paid on a Wednesday, having a bill be due on a random day of the week was a bloody nightmare.
I know you think it just a scheme to make it look cheeper, but weekly / 4 weekly plans are beneficial for the vast majority of people.
Bean counters came up with this idea!
