An email just arrived advising of the not unexpected end of skinny direct so looking at options.

Skinny - 28 day @ $36 makes it $39.11 per month $469.29 yearly gives only 1gb extra data.

Voda - 4gb max speed but endless data $40 per month $480 yearly

Kogan - Small plan 1.5gb $15.11 monthly $181.28 yearly

I mostly have wifi coverage when using my phone so just don't need a lot of data so Kogan seems the way to go - any thoughts on getting their $1 plan for 90 days then changing to the 12 month small plan, i'm guessing this is possible?

$36 Skinny plan is 4.5 GB max speed then unlimited data at reduced 1.2 Mbit/s after that. See plans

Can't believe that after nearly 4 years on the $30/3GB plan there's still nothing that gives more data for the same money.

The sneakiness of a 28 day renewal (notice how they imply it's a $6 price difference rather than $9 in their email?) makes me not want to move to Skinny. I'll take my free month and then leave.

2D 2.5GB carryover seems like the best deal at $30.

2d do a $30 per month (true month not 28 days) 300 minutes / 2.5GB and unlimited SMS with an hour of free data everyday and unused data / minutes carryover for 12 months

@allio The 1 hour of free data everyday I use when going home from work and with MoRAN deployment now under way the 2d 3G/4G coverage is awesome!

My son and another friend have been on Kogan mobile for over a year. Prior to reaching the 12 months they were emailed heavily discounted offers to sign up for another year. Obviously both have renewed with Kogan mobile for another year.

I can't understate the value I'm now getting from sparks data stack. I'm only on the $19 for 1.25gb plan but now built up my data stack to over 2gb which means I'm now getting close to 3.5gb a month for $19. Short term the plan isn't great but once it starts accumulating it starts to pay off. If you were to do the $30 2gb plan for a few months you can drop down to the $19 plan when it build up a bit. Only down side is the measley 3.5gb maximum rollover accumulation.

I was going to make the same recommendation.  I also get the 1GB per month socialiser for Spotify etc, with the result I usually have max rollover except during summer holidays when I hit the data while away on the boat.

Seems really good value for $19

I'd second @Linux in terms of recommending 2D. No silly caps on carry over data, no "SD quality optimised" video streaming, no 'pretend months', decent support hours and once you sort out your home network - rock solid Wifi calling ;)

I cannot recommend them enough - they've been very eager to take my business away from Spark :)

Linux:

I firmly disagree.
Although i am now in a position where it doesn't matter to me, there was a time when monthly charges were a real PITA.
I got paid on a Wednesday, having a bill be due on a random day of the week was a bloody nightmare.

I know you think it just a scheme to make it look cheeper, but weekly / 4 weekly plans are beneficial for the vast majority of people.
