Weren't there multiple reports of BigPipe rolling IPv6 out regardless of whether the account holder had signed up for the trial or not? That's a funny sort of beta!

Wasn't the official word from Spark that they'd only offer IPv6 'if it were deemed absolutely necessary'? Has that policy changed?

You have missed my point completely here.

roadmaps could be years long, as i said it's not my place to define that. i can confirm at some stage, ipv6 would be a move spark will make, obviously.

No, that wasn't the official word. It never was. Read the thread before you repost rubbish like that please. (re: your last link).

While we understand the frustration from the tiny number of active v6 users, there are quantitative and qualitative benefits for the userbase from moving the Bigpipe users onto the Spark network. We had to prove internally that the Spark network performed at least as well as the Bigpipe network before they would consider moving (and it performed significantly better in some very relevant real world tests). The loss of v6 is regrettable, but it's temporary - and NO, I don't have a timeframe to give you.

I'd suggest you read the post further down that page by Talkiet for a more accurate view that was originally posted at the top of that thread.

The suggestion that Spark will never deploy IPv6 is just completely inaccurate.

@IPv6pipe: Any plans to adjust the pricing of your 200Mbit/Gbit plans to be in line with the competition? 2degrees & Vocus are a fair bit cheaper (even without the credit/free months), offer IPv6, and have more appealing local peering. Heck, even Spark is cheaper for the Gbit plan with the sign-up credit.

Ok, but when I change my router to PPPoE I cant get it to connect, same with my laptop. probably because I asked them fix a problem with my IPoE connection (which they did)

But now I'm stuck, so how do I get PPPoE setup again...

You may need to disconnect your router for 15 minutes before you switch to PPPoE.

Also, do I need to wait till 12th June to switch back to PPPoE, or can I switch sooner?

I'd suggest you have about a week max before people start to jump ship particularly given one of the key differentiators is going.

Yes you can switch back now. Procedures as below

Reconfigure your router to PPPoE using settings on website
Unplug router from ONT
Wait 15 minutes
Plug router back into ONT

@DarkShadow has answered this one already, but all you need to do is change your modem/router settings back to PPPoE. There is also indeed a time out period until you'll be able to obtain an IP address on the other protocol.

We'd suggest anyone using IPoE switch back to PPPoE before the 12th of June to reduce the amount of potential downtime.
