netspanner: I totally disagree, even though I have no idea what a wakeboad is. I have used it since I got my phone in May last year. When I bought my wife the same S2 she was down to 30-50s% each night while I was still in the 60-70s%. When I put it on her phone it mirrored my battery levels. Right now, 9pm, I am at 66% and she is at 84, with our phones charged up overnight. we have stock phones and use a number of apps

You can't really compare devices like that because there are so many other factors that can be involved with battery life including usage (length and type), signal strength and applications installed.

You really shouldn't need to cripple your phone using Juice Defender with a GSII

i don't see the issue here... he has juice defender installed and happy with it (it achieves what he wanted). i have also used juice defender in the past on my vodafone galaxy S2 and motorola milestone2. battery always lasted more than 2 days with this app installed. money well spent.

So its official with an ICS release around the end of next week, but how long till it gets here and why are Vodafone seemingly so far advanced and Telecom saying nothing?

Yeah it would be nice to hear something official from Telecom around this, even to just acknowledge if they are going to be releasing an ICS update.

The ICS update may go around their custom CSC, so Telecom's SGS2s might be able to be updated via a generic Kies upgrade when the update turns up.

I wouldn't bet on it though, it tends to take a while for these things to trickle down anyway.

The delay is annoying but we could understand that given explanations in the past however the lack of communication shows a disregard for their customers.  One is a technical issue the other is poor business practice and will influence peoples purchases in the future I think.

Not greatly in a captive market.

Looks like the March 10 upgrade is not happening.

The Poland release is the one to get as they are generally "Open" and have full English.

Expect flashable leaks any moment now. There's no reason Telecom should need to do anything beyond VERY minor changes to the firmware as long as there's no issues with the modem, so no reason they shouldn't be able to get their version out pretty soon.

Depends how long they want to "test" it of course.

How do people upgrade? When you connect to Kies, does it take into account regional settings or is it just an international common system?

When I open Kies up it knows mine is a Telecom supplied fone so I guess that I will have to wait until Telecom release ICS for their models..
