im wondering if im on ADSL+2 now or something.

my max speed that i have seen so far goes up to 1.850mb/s .

is it ADSL+2?

and most companies dont have this sort of plan just simply because it doesnt work.

its too problematic. why they bother?

99.99% of users have had speed issues from the day 1 till now.

I am just being realistic in here.

i dont know why you dislike my posts.

If you hate the plan so much why on earth are you on it?

Some people actuly like having the choice. I love the plan personally.

So to you maybe the plan isnt in your radar but to me, im happy.

Also realise that there are telecom rep's replying to this post and solving the issues! You cant get much better than that in my mind.

actually i like big time but only when it works. like now.

right now im downloading at nearly 2MB/s using a download manager.

love the speed. <3333333333333333333

maybe the exchange is my next door now? :DDDDD

i think i have 20 or 30 Mbit connection now and there is a possibility that my dl speed will go up to 3 or 4MB/sec.

Obviously you are having issues grapsing how this forum works and also how internet technology works, first of all your internet connection can't just jump to that sort of speeds (the 20-30 Mbit) speeds up to 2MB/s are possible but your line if it is ADSL2+ will only jump to 19.5Mbit as a limit.

I would recomend you look up ADSL, ADSL2+ and also how DNS works on wikipedia or a similar site before you go telling anybody here how you think everyone is wrong but you, its not the way these forums work nor how anybody wants to be talked to. Claims that someones posts are wrong should be backed up by direct evidence or your posts are little more than opinion and will quickly be ignored

I was having problems with international traffic yesterday but it seems to be fine now

No traffic or ping issues today.

I am such a happy camper! I was beginning to regret the ISP switch. I literally switched from the best ranked (Actrix) to one of the lowest. I think Telecom deserves more credit.

I will keep testing. I should install BF2 and see how it fairs :)

It is still a big issue on my side in WoW I have spikes of 25000 MS which promptly disconnect me. Getting frustrating

On top of this I can't update the steam client anymore... I remember Dr Reynolds was talking about how Telecom needs to be open/transparent about things, how about they be open about the shaping policy? Rather than it just being some generic non descript paragraph.

Seems they shape the first connection regardless of protocol.

Telecom do state that the whole connection is managed.

That said, I can't download Steam updates, either. Took me 11 hours to download one yesterday - worked out at roughly 40MB.

Managed.... not throttled till being useless.

They say "When the network is busy (generally inside the hours of 9am and 2am) you may notice reduced speeds", whereas I notice reduced speeds all the time regardless.

I think Talkiet has summed it all up when somebody mentioned why ihug doesn?t have any trouble thread or any other company?

Why Xtra has this long trouble thread?

"Well, the main reason is that no other company is attempting to provide a flat rate plan"

Hear lies the stupidity the others have all worked it out that flat rate is undeliverable and won't even try, and it is not as if Xtra hasn't tried before.

Last time they didn't inform the users that the service is going to be abysmal, this time they did tell the users it is going to be abysmal, at least they are telling the truth, thank the heavens that their competitors didn't follow Xtra.
