mxpress:openmedia: Anyone else experience battery issues since the upgrade.
I'm wondering if perhaps its just i've been playing with the phone more for the last 2 days.
I seem to be going through more battery power but I think that is because I am playing around with it more discovering the new features. I will attempt to resort to normal usage today and see what happens but it's difficult to resist the urge to pick it up and play around with it a bit more (I was carefully choosing my words there LOL)
mxpress:allan: I do NOT like the (non)implementation of predictive text on the S2. From a bit of searching, it looks like a third-party keyboard app is the only way to get it back to how it was in ICS.
My predictive text is still working the same as it was before the upgrade. No apparent issues noticed yet.
OMGpjay:old3eyes: It did the Wifi download fine and the update went without any problems and all aps working. Some interesting new features. One thing I can't seem to sort. On ICS I could place the time / date position on the lock screen. Can't see anyway with Jellybean.. Will be interesting with the power saving mode on to see if my battery life improves.
Settings > Lock Screen > Lock Screen Options
You will see a check box for Clock, show clock on lock screen.

If anything, I've noticed much better battery life coming from 4.0.3 to 4.1.2.
I've frozen/uninstalled the usual bloatware, leaving the same stock apps in 4.1.2 I ran in 4.0.3

Got a link of the apps you've disabled / removed?
eljefe: I'm not impressed with jelly Bean on my telecom S2 so far. Depending on usage it hangs at least once a day. 3 times yesterday as I was using it more. If and when I rarely got a hang on ICS I could clear it with the "middle" button. Not so with JB. A hard boot is required each time, altho it DOEs reboot a lot quicker than ICS did.
Typically it hangs in things like Facebook, Gtalk and web-browsing with the Android browser.
On the other hand, my daughter who is an Android novice has not had any problems on her 2degrees Galaxy S2, and she uses it a lot more than I do. She also has a fair few dodgy "kids apps" on her phone as well.
I'd be interested to hear if anyone else is having problems with the telecom version? It installed with no problems over the air.
Cheers
jeff

Both myself and a freind has been having the exact same issues you describe on our S2 phones. In desperpation, yesterday I backed up everything on via Kies (that itself was a mission) and changed the phone back to factory default including formating the SD card. Interesting that it defaulted back to a standard version of Jellybean instead of the previous ICS. Once I put my google details in, one by one all the the apps started downloading and reapearing, along with all of my contacts etc. I restored my email and photos via kies. I am still setting up some of the apps but so far my phone has been faultless. No freezes etc and it also seems much faster with, so far, good battery life. I did the above because I Googled the problems and found it was a common issue world wide. It seems that the apps are the problem as they were downloaded and installed on a previous version of the software and in some cases do not intrigate with the newer jellybean as they are the wrong version. A fresh install seemed to have sorted the issues. It didn't really take that long either but so far I am impressed with the result. It makes a sense when you think about it. Upgrading a computer OS over the top of an existing one is generally not the best thing to do so why should a phone be any different?
joker97: Do you have an exchange account set up? This will lead to battery drain eventually ... happens to me every time I set one up
