benmurphy66: what happens with Telecom if you cancel your open term contract on the first day? are you likely to get any of the $39 back or is it one months notice

You just lose the $39 you put in and you have to pay the phone in full amount if you were on interest free.

If it's open term there is no contract. You'd have the deferred payment (required to get the iPhone 6 on an open term right now), so you'd have to pay all that off if you planned to leave. If you were staying with them though, I assume you could just change plan to whatever you want.

Hope the stock levels for Spark is ok.

My Mate works for vodafone and told me they only doing pre orders for iphone 6 and will only do iPhone 6 Plus on launch day. Regards to Spark even they don't have on them at the moment they will receive the stock few days before the Launch.

Don't think so, I ordered a 6+ on no term with a one off payment of $1299 + $39 monthly

I tried to read the t&cs but the links only went to the general help page.... I ticked the box so don't know if I'm actually bound to anything if the link was bad.

When I searched for the mobile postpaid terms I only read about cancelling the monthly agreement:

You may end this agreement at any time after the Minimum Term, or at any time if you do not have a Minimum Term

Nothing on how the process of cancelling plays out. Especially regarding interest free payments. I'm keen to keep paying off the phone monthly but not the $39 plan as $19 is covering my minutes and data needs perfectly.

I'm not worried about losing the $39. I'd probably consider switching to prepay, but would like to stick with 2d since they have aussie minutes included

Thats what I did but I will stick to post paid for a month then switch back to skinny. If you cancel the order you have to cancel the full package as far as I know but if you stick to it for a month and then cancel it there shouldn't be any issues

There shouldn't be any problems cancelling the Open Term plans.

Last year I bought a 5S in store and cancelled the plan the moment they handed me the phone, all I had to pay was the full amount of the phone plus $39 for the Open Term plan I choose.

Yep Thats what I meant will still have to pay for the first month even we use it or not

I think theres even more confusion with this one. The agent I just spoke to was convinced that its been contract only since pre-orders opened. Even after I showed her this page she said the screenshots were not even of an order thats complete so making us all out to be liars.
