The caching software caches a lot. From what I have herd.

From what I understand anything that is used by Xtra Customers several times during a particular period is cached locally to speed the loading of that content/data. While the exact data isnt really known by anyone other than those directly involved with the system, it apparently includes alot of data including videos, images, and files etc.

We live in interesting times, my ADSL2+ connection will do a speedtest at 13-15mbps but I can't stream a video from overseas or download a file from an overseas site faster than 5kbps (eg dial up speed) infact I have to plug in my vodem if I want to do anything international.

What's the point in things like FTTH when they can't even get the shaping right so that we can use our connections to do even basic tasks?

Big time is a big disappointment, it's a shame that the other telecom plan (pro 40gb) is so much more expensive.

Huh, Australia isn't local traffic.

Man, this is making me rage hard. I honestly can't do anything at work - worse than dial up atm.

Can we *please* get some comms from someone about what the ETA is on this getting fixed - and if it's simply status quo from now on then I'll be forced to consider my options. I don't mean to come across as a dick or anything, but I've been on Big Time since November and it's been nothing short of stellar - so I'd like to know if it's worth sticking around.

Yea I spent 40 minutes trying to do my banking tonight on ANZ's Site, after 20 odd timeouts and forced logouts because of session timeouts, I finally managed to pay some bills!

Huh....Internet is still very slow -:( I hope Telecom will action it soon. Or maybe they are too focus into XT fault that they had forgotten the broadband service -:( I hope not.

It was awful last night, as soon as the shaping turned off at 2am the connection was fine then at 9am on the dot it fell over
