Telecom won't be charged anything. Master filter installation is now covered by the monthly fee rather than the upfront cost which was previously in place.

Wait you're saying chorus does not charge Telecom?

Or telecom abosrbs the costs and no longer charges Customers?

I doubt Chorus has decided to absorb the costs suddenly.

Would Chorus upgrade the wiring as part of the install? Do I need \ should I get the wiring upgraded?

If needed they'll run another run of cable to a separate jackpoint straight from the Demarc point in your house to where your router is, they should run tests to confirm your existing wiring to where your modem normally sits works.

The wiring charge is in the $10 extra instead of up-front :) They're making it back long-term

No. The VDSL plans are $10 a month more than their ADSL equivalents.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

$10 a month more if you're in the big 3 (AKL/Chch/WTG) right? in Dunedin you pay $10 more for the ADSL ... i am hoping you don't pay an extra $10 above the advertised price in Dunedin??

Reason why I'm asking is I've put in my application online, and the line checked said I can get VDSL. I'm just worried I may not be able to get it.

My ADSL line stats are:
Downstream 16905
Line attenuation down: 18.0

You do not.
Both VDSL and Fibre are a flat price across all of NZ.

AKL/WEL/CHCH pay $10 per month on top of a standard plan

Rest of New Zealand (RONZ) only play the standard plan cost as advertised for their area.

For Example:

I live in Christchurch and have a Home Package 500 GB Plan which I pay $119 per month for. When I get VDSL I will pay $129

If I lived in Dunedin I would pay $129 per month normally for my Home Package 500GB and if I got VDSL I would only pay an install fee for it and continue to pay the same $129 per month.

Same holds true for 30/10 Fibre.

Make sure it supports ITU-T G993.2 Annex B and you'll be fine =)

Landline included, as are local calls. As to tolls you can add one of the calling plans (see "what else you should know" here: http://www.telecom.co.nz/internet/ultrabroadband/ultravdsl/pricing/ ).

Without a calling package you'll pay the rates listed for the $46 landline plan here: http://www.telecom.co.nz/phoneline/phoneline/plansandpricing/

Yes, POTS is included as with all our plans, as for pricing it's our standard phone pricing (see the pricing on our home plans) - we're still working on portions on the website so this will soon be updated. See Here for our rates.
