just connected with Telecom VDSL (from slingshot ADSL before).

here are my specs prev
Slingshot Naked unlimited
down: 18Mbps
up: 1Mbps
att down/up: 21db/10db

now with Telecom VDSL (Naked)
down:19Mbps
up: 2.9Mpbs
att down/up:23db/57db
about 1Km on exchange.

there's no much difference and my up db was so high from 10db prev.

the bad news, I cant watch netflix now.. keeps buffering... and could not handle it.. tested on my atv, ps3.

Im so frustrated with my connection and lost my ability to watch Netflix... I thought Telecom is much better on streaming international sites.
also my up db was so high... i thought upstream would be at least 5Mbps with my previous db of only 10.
I would expect my down but yeah, seem upgrading to VDSL is useless and wanted to go back with Slingshot with this performance.

Telecom, is there any chance this can be at least check my upstream and why I could not stream netflix without buffering (buffers every min).

Im using unblock-us service to watch netflix.

GUYSSSS!!!!

at last it's all good now!!! here's what I did..

I can't wait for chorus to come in so I did it my own. first I checked my jackpoint and see if there are bad wirings. looks good.

so then went to ETP and I could see that the LINE wiring is really dodgy! so went to jaycar and bought crimp gel connector. then connected and viola! here's my new DSL connection.

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,081 / 17,505
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/GB]: 242.28 / 5.91
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.6 / 4.2
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 8.4 / 20.0

and ERRORS totally zero!!!

imagine 2 chorus tech went to our place and checked the ETP and didn't even bother to check the LINE wiring and replace with a new connector!!!

sigh! and I'm so happy!!! and so relieved!

I guess I could apply for VDSL again now!!!!!!!!!

will have a chat with telecom!

BigMal: Probably not the solution you want but I switched to an Apple TV3 and now Netflix works perfectly on Telecom where it would buffer like crazy on Roku 3 and PS4.

yeah, got no issue on tav (using atv2) but the video quality on ps3 (or ps4) is way way better...
not sure why Telecom would shape PSN?

We don't shape any of our connections.

i see, probably too traffic then with Telecom but not with other ISP?

we will see when I get new connection...

Hi,

Not sure what the issue is with Telecom and PSN, it's definitely not shaping as others have said.

I had the same problems as you did with Telecom (VDSL).  I found that streaming to my laptop, desktop, iPad, or ATV3 was fine,  but streaming to my PS3 and WDLive was poor and constantly buffering  (it always stopped at 25% for some strange reason!)

Happy to report that now I am on BigPipe VDSL I have been streaming stuff via my PS3 (and PS4)  in Super HD with no issues.
We have reports of other customers doing the same, and I am yet to hear of anybody having issues with streaming on BigPipe.
Definitely keen to hear how your experience goes when you switch to us.

cheers
