Okay the router provided is a little bit low spec.

It uses a SIM card with a Cell IMEI to connect so the router is I suspect not really the lock in to the service.

Has anyone found a better 3rd party router which deals with port fowards etc better than the Huaewi

arthurhh:

Without port Forwarding I cant get to the VPN server without Dynamic DNS cant locate the connection Not a good for me

I don't think you understand the issue.

You can't forward a port on a Spark FWA connection because it's behind CG-NAT and you don't have a public IP.

Having a different router won't change this. Even if you do have a different router and a public IP you'll have the small issue that the APN's on all mobile providers block inbound uninitiated traffic for very obvious reasons.

I don't know exactly what you're trying to achieve but there is no way of making it work the way you're planning it. All traffic needs to be outbound from the mobile connection, so it's normal to have the mobile end initiate the VPN connection, not be the VPN endpoint.

But it is a double NAT.
NAT 1 is LAN to Spark Mobile WAN. You get assigned a CGNAT 100.64.0.0/12 IP address. Which you have control over to port forward.
NAT 2 is Spark CGNAT to internet. You have no control over it and no ability to pinhole a port.

So unless you can pinhole on #2 there is no point talking about #1. Trust me I know a lot about this.
