Hi Guys,

Need your help / assistance in setting up my Dopod900 (imate jasjar) for SKY Mobile TV.  I want to register before end of the month to avail of that 3-wk free period so hope you can help me here.

I went to a Vodafone branch and they told me that if I wanted my phone to be configured, then I had to give it to them and they will be charging me $55 for the handling fee or something. I bought my phone in Malaysia but I am currently using Vodafone Prepay and I am able to connect 3G/ GPRS.  I am not sure how I can access Vodafone Live and I understand I need to have that as it's linked to the SKY mobile tv channels.

Anybody here holding a non-vodafone 3g phone? Hope you can teach me how to connect this or do I really have to have my phone configured by Vodafone?

Thanks!

angelika

Go to wireless.vodafone.co.nz and select your device and you will find the GPRS and WAP settings sent to your phone.

There is a chance you may not be able to access mobile TV anyway - the Jasjar is the only device that is capable of Mobile TV but if you don't have rhe required Vodafone DRM on the phone (since it's not a Vodafone branded device) it may not work. Paying $55 may get it working if the phone is flashed with Vodafone firmware.

Somebody will probably correct me now but I belived the Jasjar does TV and it's the only device that does.

all Vodafone's pocketpc phones do not have Vodafone Live! at all, so you cannot get Sky Mobile TV on them. As I have checked with Vodafone about Sky Mobile TV on my JasJam which is not imported version, and they told me that because it is not Vodafone Live! device.

Oh no!!!! I was so looking forward to getting sky mobile tv!

sbiddle, I already have the settings for GPRS. My phone automaticallyconnects to VodafoneGPRSwhen i open my Opera browser.

Mike, I can definitely watch TV on my phone... although im doing that thru wi-fi with the Handi TV application. The thing is, Handi TV doesnt have really good channels not like Sky mobile tv. (http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=22918)

Chiefie, that is so weird, isnt it? I mean, pocketpc phones should be the priority of Vodafone for this Sky MObile tv service.....

Thanks for your reply, everybody. I might just have to settle for handi tv then..

Screens so big it will really look bad on it, vs the look bad of normal sized phone displays.
