Hi I have moved to the Rolleston area aka "Town of the future" but I have never seen anything remotely futuristic in this place. Does anyone know when if ever Telstra Clear will setup cable here. Also how far is Rolleston from the DSLAM.

Thanks in advance.

Rolleston rocks!!

Would the DSLAM be in the telephone exchange? Its on the same road as the primary school, on the other side and towards SH1 (next to some shops).

Good luck with your new existence!!

Lots of love,

Ex Rolleston boy (now Melbourne based :)  )

TelstraClear doesn't do network expansions.

They've obviously decided that expanding the network probably won't increase their profits, because of the high level of capital involved. Takes a long time to get your money back at $50-$100 per customer per month.

(Have to remember this is TelstraClear. They don't seem to be able to write a business plan and stick to it.)

One of my friends lives in Rolleston.. near the prison, he has TCL broadband, that's perhaps an option until TCL expand their Network I guess.

We'll never be too old to learn, and we learn at least one new thing every day.

Perhaps it's a better business case for them because Telecom's not going to be there.
