Perhaps a silly question...but do you get a BigPipe email address or do you have to switch to Gmail etc?
They do say it's stripped back...

Nothing but broadband.
We provide the pipe and it's BYO everything else. modem, email address, voice calling, anti virus, tv, cloud storage, global mode etc etc

You are definitely better off not using ISP email anyway. Makes it a pain if you want to leave.

The money we save by not providing that stuff either comes off the price, so you save money, or goes into international bandwidth, so you can download more stuff.
