Hey,

I have the Technicolor TG587n V3. My default gateway in ipconfig is 192.168.1.254. I try to connect to it in the browser but it just times out after a minute. I have tried turning it off and on, still no success.

Also off topic but I noticed this router is now retired, any way I can get a new one, I'm guessing the Huawei HG659 is the best available.

Did it ever work? Have you rebooted the router?

Yeah I could access it when I last tried about a month ago. I need to do some port forwarding. Yeah I turned it off and on again. I was contemplating doing a hard reset back to factory settings but I don't know all of the info required to get it up and running again.

hard resetting should keep the setting to Telecom Internet as they are baked into the firmware of the router.

Absolutely. What info do you need? After a factory reset it will work as it did on day one. No username/password required as it's coded in the firmware (as mentioned above). You'll only need to set up anything you've tweaked yourself previously.

Firewall issue?
If not, call the helpdesk, and if they can't get into it (after the appropriate trouble shooting), they should offer you a new one.

Yeah I can access it from my S4. Weird, any idea why it won't let me do it on my main PC which is hard wired to the router??

Maybe your web browsing is through a proxy server or VPN.

I had an automatic proxy configuration URL on my firefox browser. Turned it to no proxy but it still wont let me connect through my main PC.
