We have a fibre landline with the POTS circuit connected to the Chorus ONT.  Where does the dial tone and switching come from, i.e. are the poor old Neaxes still in the fray or is some shiny new VOIP computer doing the work?

Thanks in advance.

Dialtone is generated by the ONT. Backend is Broadworks.

Spark were planning to use the NEAX's with their new VoIP cards which was part of the reason their voice was delayed so long.

Thanks for the info Steve.  The system does work nicely and we really love the simultaneous ringing.  That said, it is rather noisy in our kitchen when both of us have our cellphones close by.  Three phones ringing is not subtle.

I wish Call Minder had the notification on it when you get a new message; same thing for the new message notification on my cordless phone - neither work :(

They had quite a lot of problems getting Call Minder to work on my fibre land line, but it goes properly now.  In particular, the message waiting facility does work, so I'd report it as a fault.
