Had UFB installed by Enable last week (Spark) - everything when well except that the phone line wouldn't work when tested (TEL1 keeps flashing on the Huawei box)

Anyway, the installer said that they need to come back to work outside, (overhead cables?). I opted to have the phone connect directly to the box.

My VFNZ service (Cable) is still active however since the install no one has been able to call the landline number, all they get is an engaged signal. Since this morning I'm no longer able to phone out (no audible signal) but I'm not panicking...yet.

Anyone care to speculate as to what has gone on? I'm thinking there been a stuff up down the cabinet (Distance is 67m).

Thanks.

Just sounds like it hasn't been provisioned correctly. Have you contacted Spark?

Exactly what happened with our install (same symptoms too).

Not identified by Spark though.  We had an independent tech at our place doing some network stuff within the house and he identified and fixed the issue.

There is no way an independent tech could fix a provisioning issue on the ONT - unless that tech had access to Spark provisioning systems. That's what I personally think this issue is.

An independent tech however could quite easily identify physical issues in the house in terms of wiring.

Either the tech hasn't back-fed the copper phone lines in the house to the ONT properly or at the FTP outside.

Or its an issue with provisioning not setting it up yet.

This is what it was I think. Has been sorted - Special thanks to the GZ Spark team for looking into this.

Moved to Spark sub-forum. Please post UFB problems in ISP sub-forums as these are the primary contacts.
