I'm looking to move address soon. Currently with Xtra/Spark on fibre, about 6 months into a 12 month contract. The address I'm looking at doesn't have fibre (currently) but has DSL. Fibre is available at the new address however.

My question is if I move, do I have to sign up a new contract for another 12 months? I'd prefer not to. Note that I'm not looking to disconnect from Spark (nor do I need a new modem or anything like this), just move address. I remember in "the olden days" as long as you weren't disconnecting this was fine, but I hope that doing it today doesn't mean signing a brand new contract.

I think if you pay the connection/moving fee you don't need to start a new contract. If you want to negotiate that being waved then I'd expect to need to go on a contract.

Equally if you want to do a new fibre connection (it's not currently there and needs to be installed) I'd expect to be on a contract.

As a former Spark employee, it's my understanding that if you are on contract with fibre and choose to move address, your contract resets. So essentially you start a new contract term at the new address.

I believe DSL is treated differently - when you move address, the existing DSL contact term is transferred.
