I just got this email today:

Hi freitasm_xtra,

Your Flickr Pro account expired on . You have 316 photos but you're now only seeing the last 200!

Perhaps you'd like to renew your Pro account?

You'll even get 3 months free for purchasing before 30 September 2008!

You can learn more here:

The Flickreenos

No date in the "expired on", and indeed my PRO status is gone.

Anyone else seen this?

get the feeling flickr might be doing something, as i got an email trying to persuade me to upgrade today.
Hi owenmcevans,

You've hit a limit of of your free Flickr account. You have
319 photos but you're only seeing the last 200!

Perhaps you'd like to purchase a Flickr pro account? Its
unlimited and you get video and stats too!

You'll even get 3 months free for purchasing before 30
September 2008!

You can learn more here:

I've been over the limit of free for a couple of years, but they only just sent me a marketing mail.

Strange coincidence with timing means that i would be pointing my finger at flickr rather than Yahoo!xtra.

O

Test first, ask questions later.

I've got a reply from Telecom Help Desk telling me to contact Flickr. Unbelievable - it's a premium service, it's an account problem, Telecom should manage it, not me!

I am sorry to hear about your Flickr Pro account has been cancelled. Unfortunately we do not support the Flickr here, I would need to refer your to the help section within www.flickr.com/help/ There is a "contact us" option on this page that maybe your best option.

I can confirm that your Xtra account is all active and can see no reason why you shouldn't have a valid Flickr account.

I get the feelign there's a massive disconnect between Telecom and Yahoo.  TC aren't able to provide answers about Yahoo services included in the Bubble and emails to Yahoo go unanswered.

Do Telecom really think I will have enough to get Yahoo! to look at this? It's their partner after all, they should sort their problems, not me...

Maybe they don’t have access to the yahoo details and yahoo will only provide it to the account holder – confidentiality or something maybe?

A similar situation might be that I get free travel insurance with my credit card, but I don't phone my bank if I want to make a claim or make an enquiry about what I am covered for.  If I try phoning the bank they will just give me the insurance company's number and tell me to call them.

Seems the CSR believes that you're one of those new users who thinks any internet problems they have should be directed at their ISP, which im thinking Xtra would get a lot of.

Mauricio, I work with Flickr and I have taken over your customer care inquiry. Can you please take a look at my reply to your customer care case? I am hopeful we've solved the problem.

Wow! Now THAT's a good customer service! Wish some NZ companies can be this proactive to quickly offer a resolution without much "send around" and play tag by the customer service reps...

Hello Tara

All fixed thanks for that and getting in contact.

For people reading, here is the timeline of events as it seems:

- I got a notification of account subscription finished
- I contacted Telecom Help Desk who advised me to contact the Flickr team directly
- I contact Flickr while at the same time someone at Telecom raised an internal query
- At some time this morning the PRO status was reprovisioned and I am told by Telecom
- The Flickr team also replied saying the account was in good standing

I think the last two events happened almost at the same time.

Anyway, the account is back. It looked like a unique event since the feedback I got from people in my blog and on Twitter is that all was fine.

So let's say this was an one off - "things" happen.

Thanks all!
