I've been having a few problems with a US based embyshare server for the last couple of nights. Below is a traceroute done just now. Is this a known issue at present?

It's a Cloudflare server not one located in America.

Could be served from any region.

Looking at that trace, I'd say it's on the return path. But peering is kinda where I check out.
@Talkiet is more in a position that can comment.

The one thing I will ask. Is what is your actual issue? Is it the latency or does it just look to be the smoking gun?

The actual issue is I'm unable to stream the video shares using emby. If the stream starts at all it continually buffers.

OK. So your hosting content on a server which you run behind Cloudflare and run emby on there?

Have you tried simply rebooting the machine? When I used to run emby it would buffer hard if the machine started swapping.

Its a remote server that I have access to. Rebooting was the first test which didn't work. It streams flawlessly after connecting to a VPN (iVPN Sydney server)

That's fine, just confirming the simple things before it's jumping to what looks like a smoking gun (being ICMP and all)

for my spark connection, 104.17.155.47 terminates in their sydney POP, 32ms away, single threaded loads peg out my connection so a stream would be fine regardless of quality.

I'm personally not seeing the issue.

Cloudflare has been 502ing and dropping/redirects since late last night our time.

https://www.zdnet.com/article/cloudflare-stutters-and-the-internet-stumbles/

Conveniently timed but reported as unrelated to some foreign lands raised level of DDoSing lots of CF front ends. Possibly lots of redirects still happening looking at their server status pages.

Which could quite possibly explain it. large CPU load in firewalls, thus delayed acks. makes alot more sense than the alternative possibilities.

This does appear to be the issue. I tried emby briefly this morning before work and streaming appears to be okay for now. Also, the traceroutes this morning look similar to those posted above reporting no issues.

Thanks for everyone's time and attention.
