Hi everyone,

I've recently moved from Vodafone HFC to Bigpipe UFB. The connection is working well, but my old router is worse than the Vodafone Ultrahub I had with HFC.

I tried to get the Ultrahub working on Bigpipe UFB (using generic UFB instructions) but I have had no luck so far.

Has anyone successfully got Bigpipe UFB going on the Vodafone ultrahub?

many thanks

PPPoE no VLAN 10 Tagging

Vodafone use VLAN10 (fibre) and no VLAN10 tagging HFC both use DHCP so remove the VLAN10 tagging as appropriate

Bigpipe use PPPoE with username anything@anything and password of anything

The trouble is even though on the Vodafone Ultra Hub it looks like you can change settings like IPoE to PPPoE and VLAN Tagging, they don't actually save. Whether its a bug, or an intentional lockdown, I don't know.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you supposed to return the Vodafone ultrahub to Vodafone? It's not yours you merely rent it.

That sounds like a feature ;)

Yes that's exactly the situation. I click save but when i go back to look at the settings it's gone back to the original!

After a bit of googling it looks as though there's possibly an 'admin' mode for the router (which may get around this problem) but I couldn't figure out how to activate it.

Hmm I haven't heard anything about giving it back?

No I gave up. Still keen for help if anyone has ideas or insights as to how to get the settings to save properly!
