TCom has recently sent me a new wireless modem/router due to our exchange now being ADSL2+. My question is: Wheres the speed difference? Initially I thought it would be due to the upload being capped so I've waited for it to be uncapped (which it is now clearly), but it remains at being stuck at the same speeds. In fact, the D Link consistently syncs at higher downstream speeds (usually connection is about 5mbps with the D Link and 4mbps with the Thomson). These tests were with all filters & phones etc taken out, so only the router is connected to the phone line.
Is there something wrong with the Thomson router? Isn't ADSL2+ supposed to be faster?!
Using ADSL2+ (new TCom Thomson router)

Using ADSL (G604T D Link)

Edit: I should clarify, D Link connects at 5mbps with phones connected as normal, Thomson at 4.160mbps with phones connected as normal. Upload is approx 512kbps for both with phones connected. With everything disconnected its around 700-800kbps (with D Link being 800+).
What I really want to know is: Am I actually getting ADSL2+ considering the D Link is actually faster?
